Handicap Equipped coaches direct from the factory
Mercedes-Benz is now focusing on delivering fully handicap-equipped buses direct from the factory.
By bus from the start, all the equipment needed for wheelchair passengers squeezed costs because cars do not subsequently have to be specially adapted for the disabled.
The first fully factory built handicap-equipped tourist bus from Mercedes-Benz Tourismo is delivered to the bus company BEX in Berlin. The bus can accommodate 57 + 2 passengers and four wheelchairs.
An electric wheelchair lift is located behind the front axle. Inside the bus there are quick release for the wheelchairs, which means that you do not have straps and the like. From the beginning, is the bus frame suitable for wheelchair mounts.
By the disabled tourist bus from the start made in the same way as övfriga buses, no special adaptations afterwards, pushing the total price for the bus.

BEX (Bayern Express & P Kühn Berlin GmbH) is now part of DB Stadtverkehr, a subsidiary of the German state railways Deutsche Bahn. The company runs a lot of sightseeing and transfers in the German capital.
