Road safety in the alternative for school transport
Road safety issues take second place when discussing school transport issues. This applies at least as long as there has been a serious accident where you have been reminded of children's vulnerability on their way to or from school ride. It is argued in a recent study by the National Road and Transport Research Institute VTI .
The survey was based on focus groups and conducted by three researchers at VTI.
It shows that issues related to safety and security from their parents' perspective, most are linked to security inside the bus and wait times. Security issues also bridged by the question of who should get the school bus or not.
Most of the actors involved in the school bus were not seem to know how to handle the responsibilities and roles says the VTI-report.
